A communal offering of paints & instruments in order to stimulate imagination & creation. A social experiment. A transmission of energies.
I conjured a mystical, glittering harem den - complete with a luscious pillowed floor, fresh bougainvillea, candelabra, and smoke machine - and commanded starship with my three other circus freaks, dressed in my designs - an alien, a mermaid, a belly dancer, and a ringleader. We provided an extensive selection of vividly hued and basic acrylics, pads of varying paper mediums, brushes, african drums, tambourines, kalimbas, a shaman rattle, juju seed rattle, rattle drum, symbols, and castanets - and let magic play.
One man was heard citing that he wouldn’t be comfortable painting in front of so many people.. he’d be embarrassed.
He was later spotted lying on his side - painting, smiling, and laughing.
Another approached to thank me personally for the experience - explaining that this was some of the most fun he’d had in recent memory… he found it cathartic.
I was overjoyed with the synergistically passionate response towards the project, and will be saving the works created in station with aim to display them in the future, as a fuller flower, as an installation of their own :)
